Programs
Eight-week creative programs for young people, delivered in partnership with
schools, councils, services, and community organisations.
Why TROU
TROU — The Rest of Us. A Footscray-based arts organisation running creative programs with young people from culturally diverse and underrepresented communities. Our facilitators are working artists from the same communities as the young people we work with — so the skills get taught the way they're actually used. Programs run across music, spoken word, visual arts, and DJing, in partnership with schools, councils, and community organisations across Naarm/Melbourne.
Music
The TROU Music Development Program is an eight-week creative music program built for young people who want space, guidance, and confidence to express themselves through music.
DJ
The TROU DJ & Electronic Music Program is an eight-week program for young people who want to learn how to DJ — beyond just pressing play. Mixing, music selection, reading a room, and the basics of electronic production.
Spoken Word
The TROU Spoken Word & Poetry Program is an eight-week program built for young writers and performers who want to develop their craft, find their voice, and perform their work live.
Creative Voice
The TROU Creative Voice Program is a six-week multidisciplinary program for young people who aren't sure which artform fits yet. A guided taster across writing, music, visual arts, and DJing -designed to expose, not specialise.
Visual Arts
Visual Arts
The TROU Visual Arts & Exhibition Program is an eight-week program for young people who want to develop a body of work, learn the practical side of exhibiting, and present at a live group exhibition.
One-off Workshops
For schools, festivals, professional development days, conferences, and youth services that want a single TROU experience without the eight-week commitment. Pricing follows the NAVA workshop schedule directly.
How It Works
Step 1. Get in touch. Step 2. We scope it together. Step 3. We deliver. Step 4. Showcase + reflection.
